The existing staircase within the property was strengthened in-situ, using a composite timber and steel solution, with reinforced pad stones to provide the cantilever action required for the flitch plates.
The basement works were carefully sequenced to ensure movements to the building above were minimised, with this being achieved through the use of a two-stage jacking process, first onto the temporary works, and then onto the permanent RC transfer slab supporting the flank wall.
